Who Tells Your Story? | Hamilton The Exhibition

Who lives, who dies, who tells your story?

Apparently, if you’re our founding father Alexander Hamilton, Lin Manual-Miranda, a composer, lyricist, actor, playwright and more, will take on your story and continue beyond the hit musical Hamilton.

Hamilton: The Exhibition opened in Chicago in Spring 2019, and I was lucky enough to be invited to see it for myself! I brought along the biggest Hamilton fan I know, my former coworker who also accompanied me to Spamilton. We spent about 1.5 hours in the exhibit at Northerly Island. It provides an interactive behind-the-scenes education about the facts (and some embellishments) that make up the musical. Plus, there’s a 3D ending! (Yes, we clapped.)

The exhibit was so impressive for being temporary. The props were as impressive as you’d imagine on Broadway, and the interactive, computerized features captivate you. I think the $39.50 price tag turns some people off, but after having gone, I see now why it’s valued at the cost it is. It’s truly the museum of the future and could be appreciated by die-hard Hamilton fans or anyone who’d just like to learn more about the birth of this country.

Hamilton the Exhibition is scheduled to be in Chicago through the beginning of September (ticket sales show this date, but you might notice that the FAQs on the website aren’t updated). It’s perfect for visitors or if you’re a Chicago local. Just know that it’s on Northerly Island. If you aren’t familiar with the area by Museum Campus, be sure to read the FAQs closely regarding parking and the exhibition’s location in the city.

What I Wore

Hamilton the Exhibition

My recent Rent the Runway Unlimited shipment has been a favorite as of late. I got lucky with several trendy pieces being available to rent, including this Sanctuary leopard midi skirt. I don’t see the skirt sold online anymore, but I rounded up several similar here and below. I am totally on the leopard midi skirt bandwagon and don’t care that every other basic girl is, too. I love that they can be dressed up, as I did here for work, or worn casually as I am this weekend.
