Tunic Weather

Sincerely Jennie Banana Republic

If you’re in Chicago you know there’s no way I wore this outfit this week. I did take these photos on an especially chilly day, but that was weeks ago. Now, you’re lucky to even see my face outside with everything I wear to bundle up! Which is sad, because my thick scarves, hats and gloves mean I don’t get to show off some of my favorite clothes and I can’t check out what everyone else is wearing on my commute.

Before everyone had to don heavy jackets and hats, I noticed that a lot more people were wearing tunic sweaters than in years past. I really love the look because they can be slimming (given you’ve found the correct style) and tunic sweaters are a great layering piece. They’re also super chic when thrown over leggings and worn with boots. I picked up this sweater on sale at Banana Republic, and bet there are still some available in stores. Of course, I’ll have to wait and see who else is wearing one until it’s spring again!
