Fur Real, It’s Cold Outside

leather skirt

Once the winter really settles in and there are days of days of negative degree weather, it’s really easy to get sloppy. I try to consider all of the ways to wear sweats to work, but instead settle for commuting to and from in leggings. Once I’m in the office I still need to look professional. I don’t want to be wearing outfits and windblown hair reminding people of the tundra outside. I think this faux leather skirt look nailed that professionalism in the winter, with a choice accessory and red lip (not red cheeks!).

Finding accessories that will work both in and outdoors is my number one suggestion for surviving the cold outside and the {sometimes} cold inside offices. I’ve amassed quite a scarf collection and reach for statement ones that can add to my outfits. This faux fur scarf is polished enough that it doesn’t look odd if I keep it on indoors. I’ve also seen people pull off a beanie inside but have yet to try that fad for myself. If you work in a creative office and think you can also get away with it, then by all means, do! Try a beanie with a pompom a la here to be on trend.

By the way, this faux leather skirt is from The Limited. I loved it when I found it, especially that it has pockets! I was kind of sad to hear that The Limited is closing its stores and was also surprised. That’s a place where I was able to find some gems if I took the time to try pieces on and sift through the sales racks. I’m not sure I’ll have as much luck shopping the online store. What about you?
