Real Winter OOTDs

This is my first winter in California and I can’t believe I’m enjoying the mild weather so much. I’m sure it’s a major “duh” for all of you, but having grown up in the Midwest, the cold never bothered me anyway. (Yes, I am an ice princess.) You may remember I even went outside during last year’s Polar Vortex just to experience negative temperatures. I love the changing seasons, and I thought I’d really miss that here.

Well, surprise, I don’t really miss winter! Yes, there are some days I’m annoyed I can’t wear a good winter coat or get jealous when my Chicago friends are sharing videos of falling snow. But overall, I love that I haven’t become a hermit because it’s freezing cold. Plus, I’m having fun playing with different styles that don’t require layers to cover up. I wanted to share a few or my recent REAL outfits. They were worn in San Francisco, but could easily be worn anywhere by adding a pair of tights. 🙂

Several of the following outfits are pieces from Rent the Runway so I rounded up similar options you can own. But, if you’re interested in trying out Rent the Runway Unlimited yourself, I have a special code for $100 off. Click this link to sign up.

My husband and I both have been really into turtlenecks this winter. He received two from me for Christmas, and I bought this for myself at Macy’s. This whole outfit is definitely 90s inspired, and as a 90s kid I couldn’t have been more comfortable. I wore it to a friend’s birthday picnic at a park and was able to plop down on the ground for lunch and conversation easily. The exact overalls I’m wearing are from Rent the Runway, but I also linked to similar ones below, both a save and splurge option.

When I do Rent the Runway, I rarely rent accessories because I already get jewelry through Rocksbox and have quite a purse collection myself. So, I don’t want to use rental spots on items already in my closet. But, when I saw this green All Saints purse as an option to rent, I wanted it immediately to go with my holiday outfits. I carried for a few weeks around Christmas and have never felt a more luxurious purse. It was gorgeous but practical. I love that it’s still for sale from All Sains. Oh, and so is my super inexpensive plaid top, here’s a link to the exact one from SheIn.

Not only did I continue to wear my All Saints Kita Crossbody past Christmas and on vacation, I also started wearing a Christmas gift of Cleveland pride gear nonstop. I came across Founder and Designer Emily Roggenburk, of Emily Roggenburk Studios, on Instagram and loved her apparel line celebrating her hometown pride. I never want hometown apparel to look too sporty, I prefer something that’s more fashion-forward and I can wear in my everyday life. Her clothes are just that. She’s also branched out to other Ohio cities and other major cities if you want to rock something other than Cleveland.
