My Top Trend in 2016

I have to say, of all of the trends that made a comeback in 2016, the choker trend may have been my favorite. Sure, Steve may say some of them look like they’re suffocating me, but in my opinion as a lady chokers are a really sexy, flattering piece of jewelry if you choose the right one for your body type. And there are so many styles you can typically find a choker for any outfit! There are bow chokers like I’m wearing, wrap chokers to  work with any neckline and lace up chokers. Honestly, the only chokers I can’t get on board with are the tattoo chokers from my childhood (although to be honest if I’d saved any I probably would still try to pull it off at a music festival or something.)

What other trends did I like this year? Definitely the patterns – such as plaid and stripes, which is kind of reflected in this dress. The trend I wish I could have rocked but found it much harder than it needed to be? Off the shoulder shirts. Honestly. Did any of you try to wear off the shoulder shirts and end up tugging on them the whole day so that they’d stay in place? I just ordered an off the shoulder sweater – let’s hope the chunky knit material stays in place better than the elastic tops on my summer shirts.
