With the start of the new season I thought I’d let you in to a little secret to help you switch over your wardrobe. The secret is the Trunk Club and the services offered to help you build out your closet. Have you heard of the Trunk Club yet? The company lets you work with a stylist to order trunks of clothes or visit in-person at a Clubhouse for try-ons. Continue reading to learn how it’s helped change the way I look at personal shoppers.
I was first introduced to the Trunk Club through my fiancée, when the company only had services for men. Steve visited the Chicago location and worked with a stylist to add to his winter wardrobe. At the time Steve was just discovering his new, elevated style. (He was transitioning from frat boy to young professional.) The stylist pulled so many great looks and taught Steve a really valuable lesson – the importance of layering. Steve still likes to pull out the little tricks his stylist taught them. Seeing that helped me realize the Trunk Club goes beyond a personal shopper. The stylists there help you determine pieces that work for you and teach you ways to incorporate them into your style.
My second visit the Trunk Club was very similar to my first. I met with Senior Stylist & Custom Specialist Brooke Nianick. Before the visit I’d filled out a form letting her know my style, holes in my closet, fit and favorite brands. I should clarify here that women’s products at the Trunk Club are from Nordstrom. They’re amazing, but they can sometimes be over my budget. I made it clear before the meeting that I couldn’t spend a lot. Brooke was very accommodating and found a lot of items at prices I could afford. (Though she did dangle one $400 white blazer in front of me. There was no way I could get it, but I still dream about it. See below.)
I can see some people working with the Trunk Club every season to purchase lots of new clothes, but I went with just two things on my list. I needed a pair of nude heels and was interested in looking for white clothes for wedding activities. Brooke made sure to pull lots of items that I was wishing for, but also pushed my style envelope a bit with other clothing I wouldn’t have tried on myself. She helped me style those pieces so I could see just how cute they would be in my closet.
I walked out with a few items and interest in going in again. Although I don’t plan to use the Trunk Club for all of my shopping (after all, shopping is my cardio), I can see the value in going back for wedding and honeymoon looks. Having someone pull options so all I have to do is try things on will definitely save valuable time as the wedding gets closer!
I know this read like a sponsored post, but it was in no way affiliated with the Trunk Club. I was just excited to share news of my experience with you. Oh and one more thing! I forgot to mention if you go to the Trunk Club you can enjoy an adult beverage at their bar. Definitely makes shopping more fun.
