The Estée Edit

The Estee Edit

I was so excited when I received new products from The Estée Edit. I’d known for a while about Kendall Jenner being the new face of Estée Lauder but was unaware she was also a guest editor of their new, seemingly fresher, collection. The collection is sold exclusively at Sephora. Although it looked promising I wasn’t sure what to expect. Truthfully, for a long time I didn’t think these “higher-end” products were worth the money when there were perfectly good drugstore brands out there. However, once I tried the Estée Edit products, I was proved wrong. Some even became a part of my daily routine.

The Estee Edit

I did get to try these products complimentary of The Estée Edit, but I wouldn’t be sharing them if I didn’t think they were worth writing about. Two of my favorite products are the serums I now use daily as a base of my whole makeup routine. Keep reading to find out more.

Radiance Activator Treat + Prep + Glow | This serum promises to be three-in-one for instant, visible glow with long-term brightening and hydration. I was surprised to find that it’s true! Whatever brightening formula Estée uses, it did help my skin glow, and even have a pretty shimmer to it.

Late Night Eraser Brightening Eye Balm with Pink Peony | I was a bit skeptical of the brightening eye balm at first. Can anything really cover those dark circles under my eyes? Well, this product is one of the closest to doing so! It’s not perfect, but it does make me look more awake. I don’t think it’s for every completion though, because it seems like the brightening formula has a tint to that probably won’t match every skin tone. I’d be curious to hear how it works for others.

Inside Track Eye Kajal (Bold Bordeaux/ Urban Nude) | I was a bit confused by this eye pencil at first, and asked a Sephora employee for help to apply the two colors. This is a super-creamy, kajal eye pencil in dual-ended, paired shade combinations to give you smudgy, sexy, slept-in eyes. I ended up applying the lighter side in the inside of my eyes as a highlighter and the darker shade on the outside edge of my eyes. It honestly is one of the smoothest applying liners I’ve used, and I’d love to get the black liner for a more dramatic look.

Metallishadow Crème + Powder | This was the one product I wasn’t too fond of. It’s a stacked pack with two shadows: a high-impact, matte cream eye shadow and a loose metallic powder to be worn alone or layered for a strong metal eye. I received the black creme shadow and it didn’t stay in place. Maybe colored shadows wouldn’t be as obvious, but after I applied my creme and powder for a smoky eye it quickly was all over my eyelid.

I’d highly recommend trying the products. Sephora has a great return policy if for some reason you aren’t happy with them.
