One of the recurring disagreements in my and Steve’s relationship is over food. More specifically, over our dinner recipes, and whether or not they’ll have onions. I LOVE onions. I can fry them and eat them happily. Steve is the exact opposite. One time when he was sick I bought him a can of chicken noodle soup for dinner, and he almost refused to eat it because onions were in the list of ingredients.
Now, any other onion-lovers can understand my disappointment that Steve doesn’t share in my love of the vegetable. I consider it one of the best and healthiest ways to flavor a dish. But in order to find recipes both Steve and I will like, I give up on trying to get him on my side. Instead, we’ve found plenty of flavorful onion-free dinner recipes. If you have an onion-hater in your family, bookmark these because I promise they’re ones you will both love to eat:
Ricotta and Pea Pasta (MyRecipes.com)
Cast Iron Skillet Roasted Chicken Breasts with Carrots & Potatoes (Home & Plate)
Lemon Chicken Pasta Bake (Cooking and Beer)
Lemony Brussels Sprouts & Breadcrumb Spaghetti The Kitchn
Maple-Roasted Chicken Thighs with Sweet Potato Wedges and Brussels Sprouts (Eating Well)
Happy (onion-free) cooking!
