On the Fringe

I know it’s Fall in the blogosphere (hello – there are women wearing booties out there!), but there have been a few days lately that I’ve definitely felt the dog days of summer. So I wanted to share one last summer outfit. I also wanted to talk about my new favorite place for cute, inexpensive clothes – and that would H&M.

Seriously, I found several great pieces there in the summer and can’t wait to see what I can find for the fall! But to ensure I make the most out of my time in large stores like H&M with inexpensive clothes and an array of styles, I follow these simple tips:

  • Be prepared to try things on. Fit at these kind of stores vary a lot. You might be a size small in a trapeze dress but a size 10 in high-waisted shorts. Don’t be discouraged, it just takes a bit more time to find something to add to your closet.
  • Don’t choose cost over quality. OK, so it can be tempting to buy that $15 pair of shoes. But if they end up just tearing up your heels, you won’t get to enjoy them. Be cautious when buying something at this kind of store just because the low price tag is appealing.
  • Don’t get lost in the many sections. H&M and other stores have an array of looks broken out in sections with similar themes. They have business, party, rave, etc. Don’t get overwhelmed! Find the section you need and stick to it. Don’t get lost in the fluorescent bodysuits just because they caught your eye.

Now get out there and shop!

Express – similar ribbed cami | H&M – circle skirt| Purse – Zac by Zac Posen via Rent the Runway | Shoes – Keds
