Sincerely Reading

Sincerely Reading is a reoccurring feature on the blog. When it’s not one of my book recommendations, it will be a friend’s. This week it’s from Dana of Something Good blog.

Title: To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before by Jenny Han

Summary: To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before is the story of Lara Jean, who has never openly admitted her crushes, but instead wrote each boy a letter about how she felt, sealed it, and hid it in a box under her bed. But one day Lara Jean discovers that somehow her secret box of letters has been mailed, causing all her crushes from her past to confront her about the letters: her first kiss, the boy from summer camp, even her sister’s ex-boyfriend, Josh. As she learns to deal with her past loves face to face, Lara Jean discovers that something good may come out of these letters after all. (via Goodreads)

On a Scale of “Don’t Bother” to “Couldn’t Put Down”: Couldn’t Put Down (x5)

Why? Lara Jean (the main character) is easily one of the most likable characters I’ve ever read. As you read through her story, you cringe along with her and cheer her on throughout the book. Additionally, it’s such a fun story! I’ve read a lot of young adult books and I feel like throughout a lot of them I’ve found myself rolling my eyes throughout them, but not this. For this book, I became so wrapped up in the characters and their lives that I couldn’t put the book down. I ended up pushing back some plans the afternoon I read it so I could finish reading it!

If someone likes ________, they’d like this book: Young adult fiction, Rainbow Rowell or Sarah Dessen

When would be the best time to read this book? It’s definitely a summer read. This book would be perfect for the beach or lounging by the pool. Plus, the sequel, P.S. I Still Love You, just came out!
