The Best Braid Tutorials

Dutch braid tucked underPhoto via

As I mentioned last week, I’ve been on a bit quite a braid kick lately. Honestly I’ve been wearing braids for years, but it used to be mostly to hide bad hair days, so I figured it was time to up my braid game. With so many options, I want to try to them all for myself! Of course it’s sometimes hard to figure out how to do that dutch crown braid thing on your own, so that’s where YouTube comes into play! Below are some of my favorite braid tutorials. Are there any that I missed?

A lot of the new braided styles require you to dutch braid (basically an inside out French braid), so if you don’t know how to do it already, watch this tutorial.

Once you get a Dutch braid down, try this elaborate-looking (but really simple!) tucked under version.

Before I watched this video, I actually thought a crown braid was one continuous braid. Thank goodness I now know it’s not!

Waterfall braids can prove extra hard. It’s helpful if you have a roommate or friend who can lend you a hand, but if not, YouTube is your next best help!

I’m actually still mastering a fishtail braid. I remember this was a favorite as a younger girl, and I want to learn it again, but of course in a more elegant, interesting way.
