Can you believe this weekend is already Labor Day? I have to say, I had an amazing summer and I’m really sad to see it go. When summer started this year I was moving into a new apartment with my fiance and made the decision that I was going to say “yes” less. Yes, say it less! So many times summer gets away from me because I commit to too much – whether it’s too much traveling or too many responsibilities. My promise to myself this summer to do less for others and more for me really worked out well. I got to enjoy that Chicago summer we all love! And enjoyed one specific activity toward the end…
One of the fun things I got to do in the city was go on a Wendella Boat Tour on the Chicago River and Lake Michigan. The tour was the location of my company’s summer party and it was so fun to let our hair down on the water! I’ve been on several boat tours, but this narrated tourĀ still managed to teach me something new about the Second City. It was fun to take a ride down the river and hear tidbits about Chicago’s history, then relax out on the lake with bubbly.
The best thing about the tour
Have you ever been on a boat tour, specifically the Wendella Boat Tour? What I think I liked best about this was that it was longer than others because we had time to just hang out as a group on the lake. It’s always nice to get out of the office with my coworkers, and being on open waters on a beautiful summer day was ideal!
Seeing the city from a new angle made me appreciate it even more. I’m determined to soak up the last few days of summer! Here’s hoping it’ll be an Indian Summer this year, maybe even one with another boat tour in my future.

This sounds like so much fun! I need to get some friends together and do this next time we are in Chicago during the summer!

SO fun…I cannot believe I’ve never been!
