Happy Valentine’s Day

Valentine's Day

It’s no secret that this Valentine’s Day I’ll be celebrating my love for Steve and our first few months of marriage. And we certainly recognized that with a great dinner at Monteverde. (We sure have come a long way from our KFC dinners…though I’d gladly have a fried chicken wing any day with Steve.) While in my food coma from dinner out, I was reading other bloggers’ Valentine’s Day themed posts and really enjoyed Shauna’s take on the holiday. She shared 14 random things she loves. My friends and mom have dubbed me a “lover of little things” (hence this blog’s tagline), so today I thought I’d also share in a stream of consciousness things I love beyond Steve and special people in my life. Without further ado…

Valentine's Day

10 little things I love in life:

  1. Opening a new tube of mascara
  2. Starting a new book and realizing by the end of the first chapter I’m going to be engrossed in it
  3. Using a weekly $5 off of $50 coupon at our grocery store. Every little bit saved helps
  4. Weekend mornings, eating home cooked eggs with Steve while watching Big Bang Theory…and hearing him laugh out loud
  5. An invigorating workout class
  6. Whenever a woman makes small talk with me in an unexpected place, like the elevator or gym locker room, and I’m reminded how interesting people are all around
  7. Instagram videos of my friends’ kids laughing or just being cute as buttons
  8. Finding change on the street
  9. A nap on the couch while Steve’s sports games play in the background
  10. Walking around the city and listening to a good podcast

Now it’s your turn. Share below the little things in life that make you smile! Happy Valentine’s Day.

I totally agree with the opening a new tube of mascara! It’s so satisfying. And yes, being so engrossed in a book by chapter 1 is always a goal for a great book!

Oh man reading a book and getting hooked in the first chapter is the best feeling!
