InMovement Standing Desk – a Back-saver!

standing desk review

Each year in my 20s seemed to come with more aches and pains. If you’ve hit your  20s/30s, have you had that experience, too? It all came to a head a few years ago when I threw my back out. I simply worked out one night and then the next day I was stuck on the couch! Not something I ever thought could happen to me as a fit 20-something. (You might remember me talking about this before.) Since then I’ve tried to be more conscience of ways to protect my back. I knew a standing desk could really help, both my back health and overall health, but was intimidated about my choices. There are a lot to choose from at several price points, and I didn’t want to make the wrong decision. Luckily, InMovement reached out to me about writing a standing desk review and I’m excited to share the desk I received has been a perfect fit! Keep reading for more details, it might be just what you need for your workday.

I’d long wanted a standing desk because of the health benefits and just overall good feeling I believed it’d bring me. First, I thought it could help relieve some of the pain I feel in my back and back of my leg when I sit for too long periods of times. Second, it helps incorporate some sort of extra movement to an otherwise sedentary lifestyle. Even the smallest change, like standing, has more health benefits than sitting for eight hours a day. I also choose to stand when I start to feel my energy drop. Raising my desk height and my body feels like it gets the blood pumping again.

The first thing I loved about the InMovement standing desk was the many color options. I was able to choose a desk that matches our cubicle desk exactly. I will caution that when my desk arrived I was surprised at how heavy it was, but luckily I had a coworker who helped me get it on top of my desk. Hopefully you can find an extra set of hands, too. 🙂 My favorite part about the standing desk is how easy it is to raise and lower simply by pushing levers on either side. I can keep my laptop and monitor setup exactly the same all day, and all I have to do is push two buttons to change their height. No interruptions there!

InMovement standing desks are available for a range of colors on Amazon or Staples. I want to thank the company for giving this to me c/o for a standing desk review and, as always, the opinions expressed are my own. Let me know if you have any questions about it!

I would love a standing desk, I feel like I would run into the cord issue though. My work cords go underneath my desk and into different plugs, but this would be great especially for just not sitting down!
