Happy Birthday (to Me!)

Well it’s here, my 28th birthday! Birthdays are so special to me – whether it’s mine or someone else’s – and I am so grateful that my friends and coworkers humor that and helped me celebrate. I’m also thankful for my mom, who every year tells me the story of how when she was having contractions at home, my father asked if he had time to eat dinner before they went to the hospital. He did (keeping it simple with a frozen pizza), and then tried to kill more time at the hospital by watching the MLB All-Star game. So tonight’s game is one of the (few) sporting events that has always held a special place in my heart!

A big thank you to my boyfriend, who battled the Taste of Chicago crowds with me just to get to the Buckingham Fountain. It took several shots, but we finally got some where I wasn’t all shadows!
