Mani Monday: #ColorCurators

You might remember that several months ago I shared a friend’s review of nail polish created by Formula X and Emily of Cupcakes and Cashmere. The colors were cute, but I didn’t end up purchasing any. However, when I saw a Formula X Atlantic-Pacific collaboration I had to jump on it! The three colors, reminiscent of the coast and changing seasons, were what originally caught my eye. It was an added bonus that the #ColorCurator Blair has also been a favorite blogger of mine for years. Her style is classic but original, just like these nail polishes. I purchased two of three colors, both the grays. Keep reading for swatches and a review.

Formula X Atlantic-Pacific Collaboration – Pacific Haze

I’ve been searching for several months for a true grey – not periwinkle/grey, not blue/grey, just, grey. This is it, and is the perfect transition shade from summer to fall. I love how the color glides on and dries light but sleek. You only need two coats of the polish for an opaque mani. I’m keeping this color because it helped fill a hole I had in my nail polish collection.

Formula X Atlantic-Pacific Collaboration – Taken By Storm

In addition to a light grey, I was excited to try the dark charcoal polish. I have black nail polishes, so was curious what the difference between those and dark grey would be. There is just a slight different, as you can see in the photo above. Instead of the polish being pure black, it’s true to it’s name. It has a chalky look, like charcoal. I like it, but think it would be even more striking had I used a matte top coat.

So what’s the verdict? Should you purchase polish from the Formula X Atlantic-Pacific collaboration? Yes! Beyond just being great colors that filled gaps in my collection, the formula is also impressive. Formula X has a great reputation and it’s an added bonus that Atlantic-Pacific was one of their color curators. Shop Sephora online or in stores to get your hands on the three colors.
