CUSP & UWIB

Sincerely Jennie CUSP Neiman Marcus

I recently had a great night out with CUSP in Neiman Marcus and United Women in Business. While I’ve had the pleasure of joining UWIB for several great events around Chicago, including a Madewell networking event, the CUSP event still blew my expectations out of the water. The night’s events consisted of a fashion show with panelist designer Rebecca Taylor, delightful sips and sweets, fashion illustrations by Kristine Steiner and no shortage of eye-catching clothes on the racks.

I was excited to arrive to the event and see a runway that led to an amazing panel of fashionistas including Brittany Payton (left), fashion designer Rebecca Taylor (middle), NYC-based CUSP Fashion Director Caroline Maguire (right), as well as (not pictured) lifestyle and fashion blogger behind Kelly in the City, Kelly Larkin, and SoulCycle instructor Jaclyn Mitgang. They gave us a great peek into what to expect to see this spring/summer. I definitely need to update my closet to include some of the top trends! Continue reading for what you can expect, but I apologize in advance that I didn’t keep track of all of the designers. You’ll have to visit CUSP for more info!

Several of the looks were colorful and bohemian. I love this festival style dress that could easily also be dressed up with heels for a graduation ceremony or other more formal event.

I’m starting to see more bell sleeves around and have embraced that silhouette. Add those sleeves to a sexy little lacy number and you have perfect date night attire!

The panelists talked a lot about the red color family having a major moment this season and I agree. This dress is more orangey-red, but cherry red was also seen on the CUSP runway. I love this powerful hue with a shade flattering to everyone.

What else can you expect to see as the weather warms up?

  1. Off the shoulder tops
  2. Chunky sandals (metallics are a must)
  3. Fringe on everything from shoes to jackets
  4. Culottes (friend or foe? I’m into them)
  5. Jean everything (the trend continues)

Below are more photos of the impressive girls’ night out. If you didn’t make it to this one, don’t worry. Check out UWIB’s website to see how you can join one of their next events.

What a fun event! I especially love the long orange lace dress and of course the champagne 🙂
